Still no idea when the PlayStation Network will be restored, but the key issue must be addressed in other services even before the PSN is back online. We have been informed that if we use the same password for other services such as banks then had better change the password immediately. Sony has said that while passwords encrypted hash using tags rather than plain text.
The worrying thing of all is that SOE has been hacked, which led to the service being taken down as well. This means that hackers may already have the password for both, and if they see you use the same password for both, then you can be sure it will make their mission to gain access to other web sites you use.
If you have Facebook, Twitter, or bank account online, then you'd better go in and change the password to something different. We have always said never use the same password twice, and those with a good memory will not be a problem. However, there are some who struggle to remember a single password.
This is certainly a dilemma, which is not going away. Please change all your passwords now, and never believe emails when you request your password. Sony has already said he does not ask any of these details, and we know that the banks never do well.
Have you changed all your passwords?
